Homous

Today we made the homous be tahini. During our work we had a fire drill :). The kids were very quiet and calm. Which shows how well trained they all are. We have to do fire drills training. Even if the fire station is next door. ;)

Back to the homous
NEARLY all liked it :))))

Lincoln Christ's hospital school

Today we met Chris Williams, a british council Ambassador and an international school partnership specialist. It happens that he is also the special projects consultant at Lincoln Christ's Hospital School which he was glad to take us in a tour and show us around. the LCHS  is a special language college. it is a very old school which goes back to 1904 ,and was used during the war as a hospital and a bomb shelter. One of the best with a system that focuses on every individual  and unlock the capacity to reach the outstanding achievement that every individual can reach.
They have a long history of success, opportunity and high achievement. What I have seen today in this school is where we can all reach, and how good a school can get.

The Collection Art and Archaeology in Lincolnshire

Today with the school, we went to the collection.
To those who are wondering, The Collection brings together an award winning archaeology museum and the region’s premier art gallery, the Usher Gallery, in the heart of historic Lincoln.

The archaeology gallery tells the story of Lincolnshire’s fascinating heritage through artifact rich displays and reconstructions, hands-on activities, touch-screen games, and the chance to dress up in authentic historical costumes.

The schools Investigate programme at The Collection museum is a Sandford Award winner . This is the only national award for quality and excellence in education. The award winning Investigate schools programme at The Collection museum presents lively hands-on, cross-curricular workshops based around our unique collection of artifacts.

Since the main theme this year is about the romans, the whole activities and tour guide was about this era only.
The classes were divided in to 6 groups and each group had to do a certain activity, then swap so that they go through all of them.

Key Stage One and Key Stage Two pupils experienced object handling through the Big Dig archaeology activity, took staff-led tours of the galleries and made artefact-based crafts to take home.

the kids had the opportunity to Learn about the military establishment of Lincoln under the Ninth Legion and about life for the Roman citizens of the important Roman city of Lindum Colonia, and See the mosaic floor discovered during the construction of the museum building.

The activities were tailored to meet the needs of the children. Which is a fascinating idea that made the students feel good about themselves especially when they were able to relate what they discovered/ learned at school to the things that are in the museum.

Marching can never be fun without the proper costume
Learning how to Excavate for artifacts.

Coloring and making old brooches . What a happy bunch I have.
Working on the school's mosaic.
It is story time.
