Frances Olive Anderson Primary School/ Lea School

Today we went to our partner school. Frances olive Anderson School.
It is a small school of around 179 students.
The first impression I had was on the students. They are very polite and well behaved.
This year, Lea school has been rewarded the International schools award for the second time. Congratulations ! Well deserved !

Playground
This is a new idea. Our students would love games painted on the ground!
The football field.

Classes are distributed differently from the ones in Lebanon.
They start with the reception stage and then go on with key stages 1,2 ,3,4 and 5
Lea school has till key stage 2. Which is year 6

The preparatory class/ preschoolers

Introducing ICT in early age is quite impressive
Reception year
Year 1 ( watching an animated story) prediction.
Every year, the school has a certain subject that all years have to work on. This year it is about the Romans

Year 2: numeracy ( mathematics ) this is quite interesting actually. I noticed that they work in groups according to their level and skills. Maybe we can try this approach for a change instead of having all student go through all levels of activities.

Year 3 : adjectives (English )

Year 4 ( a mathematics game) am I ... This is a good game that I liked. It does not just enhances their  understanding of numeracy, but the logical thinking as well. ( and a little bit of  forming open ended questions in English )
Researching about Roman soldiers' clothes
Listening time for some
Reading time for others . ( I just wish all kids love books as these kids do)
Every class has its own library/ reading corner ( a comfortable space that encourages reading. Right?)

Year 5 (multiplication )
Notice the book? Hhhh she is eager to read it as soon as she finishes the math work
Year 6
Arts done about the Romans
Intervention corner ( 1 to 1 ). This year we are having a special class/corner for kids with difficulties. So am having all the ideas and approaches that we can get and follow.
 School's Assembly ( being thankful )
Happy birthday!!!!
