Oundle town

Ended the day with a stroll in the old place of Oundle.

Standing in the middle of the old monastic site of Oundle, The Talbot Hotel is one of Britain’s most haunted hotels, made famous by its ghost of Mary, Queen of Scots.

There have been many ghosts reported at the Talbot but the most reported is that of Mary, Queen of Scots. Her ghost appears in a long white dress and stands at the top of the stairs or by the window of the conference room opposite. The staircase and windows where the ghost appears were brought here from Fotheringhay when the castle was demolished. It is assumed that the ghost is that of Mary, Queen of Scots who, while standing at the top of these stairs received the news that she would be executed the following day.

The staircase where Queen Marry was dragged to her death.
